RED and BLUE
TASMANia 2017
MAYDENA
SUMMARY
WHAT
A participant run gathering focusing on establishing thriving and sustainable communities and food growing systems to prepare for a range of future scenarios we may face in the next 50 years.
We focus on two major themes, a social decline theme such as might be caused by peak oil, slow climate change, or economic collapse (Blue) and a severe collapse theme and scenarios such as severe climate change or global nuclear war (Red). The name of the event was inspired by the Future Scenario work of David Holmgren.
The gathering will host a range of workshops, discussions and events focused on the background, skills, technology, systems and cultural issues surrounding preparation for these scenarios.
The event will be largely self organised with participants expected to contribute both financially and by volunteering their time either teaching or undertaking supporting roles, and or supporting the host sites on by joining any of the on site perma blitz's during the event..
As this is our first event in Tasmania we will be running it as a pilot event prior to running a full event in 2018. This means the event is more low key than a normal event with a more limited range of workshops and events. Consequently the suggested donations are also significantly reduced.
